Pain, morphine, and dying in peace: considering pain management at end of life

A conversation with Barbara Karnes, RN, award-winning end of life educator and hospice pioneer

Pain management at end of life is not the same as care for someone who is going to get better. As the body shuts down, medication absorption is not that of a normal body. The key to good pain and agitation management is observation, presence, and time spent with family on education. Is your team prepared with the information and understanding they need to provide effective pain management and connect as caring people?

Watch this free, 60-minute webinar presented by renowned end of life educator and hospice pioneer Barbara Karnes, RN. Barbara is the author of Gone From My Sight, widely known as the "Little Blue Book," which has sold more than 20 million copies and is the most widely used resource about the signs of approaching death.

Watch and learn:

  • How disease history determines pain protocol
  • Why pain management must be individualized – one plan does not fit all
  • The importance of attentive observation and family education

Don't miss this dynamic webinar that will allow your team to experience and learn from a true visionary as she discusses one of the most challenging issues in hospice care.
