Preparing Your Hospice for Targeted Probe & Educate

FAQs from the webinar:
Preparing Your Hospice for Targeted Probe & Educate

Written by Catherine Dehlin, RN, BSN, CHPN, CHCM - Director of Hospice and Palliative Care at Fazzi Associates

As the regulatory scrutiny of hospice care continues to intensify, Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) are identifying hospices for Targeted Probe and Educate (TPE) in record numbers. While the Targeted Probe and Educate program is intended to impact providers (and ultimately patients) in positive ways, these reviews can be time consuming, challenging, and stressful for hospice leaders.

To help you and your team understand TPE and learn how to get the most out of this important process, Catherine Dehlin, RN, BSN, CHPN, CHCM, Director of Hospice and Palliative Services for Fazzi Associates, recently presented a free webinar which is now available for on-demand viewing. Now Ms. Dehlin answers some of the most popular questions asked during the webinar in this new FAQ document.

Get answers to these questions and many more:

  • Can the Face-to-Face and recertification be done on the same day?
  • How will I be notified of my TPE review results?
  • Can I appeal TPE review decisions?
  • Do the referring physician and the medical director both have to write a narrative on the original certification?
