The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have released the much-anticipated 2020 Home Health Final Rule. In its 511 pages, the Final Rule lays out CMS’s decisions on a dramatic and sweeping set of changes that will affect home health agencies in 2020 and beyond. The Final Rule updates the payment rates and wage index for home health, finalizes the implementation of the Patient-Driven Groupings Model (PDGM), includes changes to plans of care and the rules for therapy, lays out new plans concerning the Home Health Value-Based Purchasing (HHVBP) model and the Home Health Quality Reporting Program (HH QRP), and much more.
